The bridge between physical aircraft reality
and financial asset strategy

30 years on the aircraft side — maintenance floors, engineering teams, lease transitions, acquisition environments — not just modeling assets, but living with them when they break, slip, or cost real money.

Under Liberated Blade, I operate two things: principal-level aviation advisory work where operator credibility changes the deal, and AeroTalentPro, a compliance-first marketplace platform connecting aviation organizations with verified contract professionals.

Liberated Blade

Principal-level aviation engagement for organizations where the layer between technical reality and commercial decision-making is where value lives or dies. I can walk an aircraft, translate what I find into financial and lease implications, and sit across from an airline technical director in the same conversation. Fractional, advisory, or project-scoped.

When better systems would help — tracking, portfolio intelligence, transition oversight — I build them around your data and workflow. Not a template. Something that fits your organization specifically.

“The aviation industry doesn’t have a talent problem. It has a trust and workflow problem.”

Airlines, lessors, MROs, and OEMs increasingly rely on freelance and contract labor for inspections, records work, engineering, and maintenance. The professionals exist. The work exists. What doesn’t exist — until now — is a compliance-first platform purpose-built for how aviation organizations actually hire, verify, and pay specialized contract talent.

Identity & Compliance
HireRight verification, background checks, credential badges, insurance confirmation. Verified contractors reduce operational and regulatory risk at every engagement.
Payments & Escrow
Stripe-powered escrow, milestone and weekly billing cycles, structured payouts, and reimbursement handling. Trust built into every transaction.
Workflow & Availability
Contractor availability calendars, project milestones, dispute workflows, and integrated messaging. Collaboration that matches how aviation teams actually work.
Ratings & Reputation
Contractor ratings, feedback loops, and verified performance history. Long-term relationship building between aviation organizations and top-tier contract professionals.

Where I fit

Where I’ve consistently
made the most difference

01
The teams I’ve worked with — and the lessors I’ve negotiated with — have generally been strong on finance, legal, and deal execution. Where I’ve added the most value is the layer between the aircraft and the transaction — where physical condition, lease terms, and commercial positioning have to connect in real time.
02
I hold an active FAA A&P certificate. I can walk a mid-life aircraft, open a logbook, and form an immediate view on condition and risk — then translate that directly into commercial language for whoever is across the table. That’s a combination I’ve rarely seen in one role.
03
Airline technical directors trust me quickly because I’ve been in their seat. That changes how conversations go. Introductions that might take months become substantive in the first meeting — because I’m not selling from the outside, I’m talking peer to peer.
04
When the work calls for better systems, I build them — around the organization’s data, their preferences, and how they actually operate. Not a platform I license. Not a template from a previous engagement. Something built specifically for the team in front of me.
One line
I close the gap between the airplane, the spreadsheet, and the deal.

President & Founder
Founded Liberated Blade LLC as the operating entity for two ventures: principal-level aviation advisory work and AeroTalentPro, a compliance-first aviation labor marketplace. Advisory practice serves lessors, operators, and transaction teams requiring technical authority, asset transition oversight, and deal-side intelligence. AeroTalentPro connects airlines, MROs, lessors, and OEMs with verified contract aviation professionals — identity verified, Stripe-escrowed, fully built and pre-launch.

VP, Fleet Technical Services
Technical authority for aircraft deliveries, transitions, and maintenance program reviews across multiple operators and lessors. On-site inspections, records reviews, conformity verification. When tracking and visibility were falling short, built project dashboards from scratch — shaped around how each operator actually worked — replacing tribal knowledge with traceable process and reducing delivery delays fleet-wide.

Added 90 Boeing 737s to the Southwest fleet through data-driven assessment and lessor negotiation. Commercial owner of the Boeing MAX configuration effort — translating operational requirements into contractual deliverables with Boeing. Advised Treasury on Purchase Agreement supplementals. Negotiated Master Change and service bulletin packages. I was the person lessors pitched to. Now I know both sides of the table.

Engineering, Technical Operations
Owned reliability, comfort, and configuration for 80,000 passenger seats and 4,500 crew seats across the entire Southwest fleet. Generated an estimated $400M in annual incremental revenue — not a one-time event, but a sustained recurring program impact from a six-seat cabin increase repeated across every aircraft, every year. Consolidated fleet from 10 configurations down to 2.

Aviation Maintenance Technician
Heavy maintenance, line maintenance, and downline emergency repair across multiple fleet types. FAA Airframe & Powerplant certified — active. This is where it started, at Vincennes in 1995. This is why I can walk a mid-life aircraft, open a logbook, and know immediately what I’m looking at. Not because I read about it. Because I worked it.

The numbers that
define the record

$400M
Program revenue impact — estimated annual, recurring
A 6-seat cabin increase across Southwest’s entire 737 fleet. Contributed to an estimated recurring annual revenue impact — not a one-time event, but sustained across every aircraft, every year. That’s the difference between an engineering project and a strategic move.
90
Aircraft acquired for Southwest
Data-driven evaluation and lessor negotiation of 90 Boeing 737s. Treasury-level economics, major counterparty relationships — and the instinct to know which deal to walk away from.
10→2
Fleet configurations consolidated
Reduced Southwest’s cabin configs from 10 to 2 across hundreds of aircraft. Improved training, maintenance planning, parts commonality, and operational simplicity — simultaneously.
President’s Award, Southwest Engineering
Peer and leadership validated. Recognized for driving innovation and organizational change. The kind of impact that gets named, not just noted on a performance review.
3×
Ironman & 7 marathons
140.6 miles of swimming, cycling, and running — three times — plus 7 marathon finishes. Long-term consistency, structured execution, finishing what I start. The same operating system, different venue.
MAX
Boeing MAX configuration owner
Commercial owner of Southwest’s MAX program — translating operational requirements into contractual deliverables with Boeing, including Master Change and service bulletin package negotiations.

Not a personality profile.
A decision architecture.

Analytical
Evidence first
I don’t evaluate assets from assumptions. I map how decisions cascade across systems — financial, technical, operational — and find the dependencies others miss.
Asset underwriting, portfolio valuation, deal structuring — every recommendation grounded in traceable evidence.
Individualization
Read the room
Every airline counterpart, every investor, every negotiation is different. I read what each party specifically needs and adjust accordingly — without losing commercial position.
The relational intelligence that turns introductions into deals. No two lease negotiations were alike. That was intentional.
Learner + Input
Build intelligence
I build internal knowledge banks, not one-off solutions. Deep across operators, lessors, OEMs, MROs, and regulatory frameworks — and I add to it constantly.
The infrastructure I build doesn’t break under scale. It compounds. AMT → Engineering → Treasury → Principal is proof.
Intellection
Long horizon
Deliberate thinking that produces decisions that hold up under scrutiny — not just in the room, but 18 months later when the lease terms matter.
Fleet consolidation from 10 configs to 2. The $400M revenue move. Both required thinking past the obvious play.
Responsibility
I close the loop
Problems don’t fall between teams when I’m involved. I don’t drop issues at the boundary between technical and commercial. I own the outcome.
That’s what the President’s Award was for. Not a project. A pattern of not letting things die between layers.
Command
Drives to resolution
Takes charge when decisions need to be made under pressure. Keeps engagements moving and stakeholders aligned.
Deals close. Transitions complete. The aircraft moves. That’s the job.

Demonstrates, Doesn’t Pitch
Before reaching out, I build. Not to hand something over — but to show how I think. What an organization actually gets is built around them: their data, their workflow, their preferences. This is just what the capability looks like in practice.
